Holy God, thank You for awakening me this morning with Your Word. Holy Spirit, please illuminate this passage so that I may understand the eternal Word deeply and walk in it. In Jesus’ name, amen.

This passage powerfully reveals that Jesus is not just a prophet, but the eternal God Himself—the Word who was with God from the beginning. Through Him, all things were created. He is life, and that life is the light of all mankind. Despite being unrecognized and rejected, He continues to shine His light into the darkness. God’s love is persistent and full of grace, offering us the opportunity to step into His light and truth.

💔 8. Interpreting Humanity

We, as humans, naturally dwell in darkness—unable to recognize or accept the light without God’s intervention. This isn’t just an intellectual blindness, but a deep spiritual ignorance. Still, there is hope: the true light has come into the world and shines on everyone. We can choose to respond to that light and receive the grace to become children of God. It’s an invitation to move from darkness into life and identity in Christ.

• Do I see Jesus as just a historical figure or as the eternal Word?
• Am I inviting His light into my daily life decisions?
• Where in my life do I need His light to shine most right now?

Example: Today, I will begin my morning by saying, "Jesus, be my light today." I will approach the Bible not just for knowledge, but to encounter the living Word personally.

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (v.5) – This verse reminded me that Jesus still shines into my darkest areas with unwavering light.

Lord Jesus, I have often overlooked You in the midst of my daily struggles. Forgive me for not recognizing Your light and life. Today, I choose to welcome You—my Creator, my Word, my Light. Thank You for coming into the world to rescue me. Let me walk in Your light today. Amen.
