๐ฟ 1. 1-Minute Prayer
Lord, thank You for the light of Your truth. Teach me to walk in that light and to reflect the humility and joy of John the Baptist. May Jesus increase in my life, and may I decrease. In His name I pray, amen.
๐ 2. Bible Reading: John 3:21–30 (NIV)
21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.
22 After this, Jesus and his disciples went out into the Judean countryside, where he spent some time with them, and baptized.
23 Now John also was baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because there was plenty of water, and people were coming and being baptized.
24 (This was before John was put in prison.)
25 An argument developed between some of John's disciples and a certain Jew over the matter of ceremonial washing.
26 They came to John and said to him, "Rabbi, that man who was with you on the other side of the Jordan—the one you testified about—look, he is baptizing, and everyone is going to him."
27 To this John replied, "A person can receive only what is given them from heaven.
28 You yourselves can testify that I said, 'I am not the Messiah but am sent ahead of him.'
29 The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom's voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete.
30 He must become greater; I must become less."

๐️ 7. Interpreting God
God delights in truth and transparency. He calls His people to walk in the light, where His works can be seen. As Jesus' ministry grows, we see that God’s plan is to center all things on Christ. He is the bridegroom, and we are the guests at His celebration. God gives roles as He chooses and invites us not to compete, but to rejoice when Christ is glorified. His glory is our joy.
๐ 8. Interpreting Humanity
Human hearts often crave recognition. John’s disciples show how easily comparison arises, even among those doing God’s work. Yet John reveals a better way: deep joy in playing a background role if it means Jesus is exalted. The friend of the bridegroom rejoices to hear his voice. We are called to live in the light and let Christ increase—even when it means we decrease. This is true maturity in faith.
๐ 9. Application to My Life
- Am I walking in truth and allowing my life to be seen in God’s light?
- Do I rejoice when others are honored, especially in spiritual contexts?
- Today, I will examine any jealousy or comparison in my heart.
- I will pray: “Jesus, become greater in my life—let me step aside in joy.”
✨ 10. Spiritual Touch
“He must become greater; I must become less.” (v. 30)
This is the cry of every true disciple—a prayer of surrender, humility, and joy.
๐ 11. Prayer of Faith, Repentance, and Thanksgiving
Lord Jesus, I confess that I sometimes want to be seen, to be recognized. Forgive me for the pride that competes with Your glory. I want to walk in the light and reflect You. Teach me to rejoice when You are exalted, even if I must become less. Like John, I want my joy to be complete in You. Amen.
⏰ 12. 24-Hour Encouragement
Hold this in your heart today: “He must increase; I must decrease.” Let every part of your day be about making Jesus known.
